Booktalk

This summer I read the whole series Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants. I loved the books. The characters really came to life for me. I would wonder what they were up to when I wasn’t reading. Brashares was truly able to create four unique voices. The girls dealt with pertinent teen issues realisticly. The bond that the girls shared and the loyalty they exhibited to each other were refreshing charactersitics. We live in the age of “Mean Girls”. I have an affliction whereby I must read a book before I watch a movie( lol). No really, I just like to visualize all of the characters, settings, and action in my own head based on my interpretation before I let Hollywood inundate my brain with their vision. I have not seen the first movie and the second movie comes out this week. Now I can watch both and compare/contrast the books with the movies. I received 500 copies of the first book in the series for free from nationalbookbank.org. Attention :Teachers/Librarians First Book will donate books to schools if you are eligible. We are planning to give copies to all the female students(male students upon request) to read. I hope First Book will offer a book soon that our male students will read and enjoy. If you have read any of the books or viewed the movies and wish to share your thoughts feel free to comment below.
